Treasure Hunt
Our annual treasure hunt will take place on Sunday 22 June @ 14:00. Entry forms can be obtained from Reg or Jenny Dines [email protected] The hunt will be around East Bergholt and should take a maximum of 3 hours to complete.
W I Visit
The ladies from Bergholt W I were invited to an afternoon tea hosted by the club. The club house was full and after the tea some of the group had a go at bowls under the tutilage of Jenny. It was a very pleasant afternnon and hopefully everyone enjoyed it.
County Competition
Congratulations Diane and Cathy who beat Norbridge in the County Pairs competition. Will update their next opposition when known. Well Done
Big Bowls Weekend
The club opened up to the village on Saturday 24 May as part of the Big Bowls Weekend. All were invited to have ago at bowls and members took visitors through the game. Hopefully all enjoyed the experience and some new members will join the club.
A French Visit
Last Saturday, 31st May, the club welcomed the French visitors from Brabizon. All were encouraged to have a go and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Inter County Competition
On Sunday 1st June the club hosted an intercounty bowls match between Suffolk and Herfordshire. The club was complimented on their green and the friendly way we greeted our visitors. We are due to host two more matches in the near future.
Richard Worn Trophy
Our first internal competition was played today 8 June, the Richard Worn unrestricted drawn singles competition. It was a great day with players playing in round robin groups with the winners of each group playing in two semi finals and then the final. The final was a very close game with Alec Gardner beating Brian Matthews. The trophy was presented to the winner by Simon Worn, Richard's son.
